Terigia DiCarlo

Terigia DiCarlo, age 92 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at her home under hospice care.

Born October 24, 1930, in Introdaqua, in the province, L’Aquila, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Emilia (Tiberi) Ventresca. Terigia came over to the United States on April 22, 1953, when she was 22 years old.

Terigia met and married the love of her life: Luciano DiCarlo on October 9, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio. They raised a family of three children and spent over 50 wonderful years together before Luciano sadly passed away in 2005.

Terigia was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was now a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years. Terigia was a great cook. She was known for her homemade pasta, meatballs, and cookies. She always made sure no one left hungry. Terigia will be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother, and warm grandma.

Beloved mother of Thomas (Carolyn) DiCarlo, Merinda DiCarlo, and John DiCarlo. Loving grandmother of Anthony (Katie Joe), Michael (Kellie), Daniel, Joseph (Katie), and Timothy (Natalie). Great grandmother of Brendon, Bree, Lauren, Luke, Kayden, Zamen, and Nicole. Also survived by her four-legged companion: Buddy.

In addition to her parents, Terigia was preceded in death by her husband: Luciano DiCarlo, and siblings: Elisio Ventresca, Sestina Ventresca, and Adelina Ferrelli.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, with a recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. A funeral service will be on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Terigia will lie instate at 10:30 am with the mass beginning at 11:30 am. Officiating is Fr. Michael Anagbogu. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Terigia are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Monroe.
