Arnold W. Dandron

Arnold W. Dandron, Jr., 87 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2023 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born December 21, 1935 in Monroe, Arnold was the son of the late Arnold and Mabel (Wright) Dandron, He was a 1954 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School. On September 15, 1956, Arnold married the former Deanna “Dee” E. Bonifacio at St. John the Baptist Church in Monroe. Sadly, she preceded him death on July 5, 2016 after 59 years of marriage. Together, Arnold and Dee owned and operated Dandron Roofing for 25 years. They retired in 1986. Arnold was a former member and past president of the Monroe Lions Club and the Monroe Golf and Country Club. Arnold enjoyed playing golf, traveling, camping, hunting, carving duck decoys, pigeon racing, painting, and antiquing. He enjoyed fishing trips to Florida and Northern Michigan where he was designated a Master Angler. Most of all Arnold enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, whom affectionately called him “Pipi”. Arnold is survived by five loving children: Robert E. (Shanna) Dandron of Monroe, Ann M. Zawislak of Bloomfield Hills, Alan J. (David Boyd) Dandron of Plainfield, NJ, Susan M. Dandron of Monroe and Patricia D. Alba of Pleasant Ridge, MI, seven cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Emily, Deanna, Omi, Nate, and Noah, two treasured great grandchildren: Sophia and Emmaline, a brother, Clifford (Loretta) Dandron of Muskegon, and two sisters in law: Peggy Dandron of Lake, MI and Linda Selvidge of Monroe. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Dee, Arnold was preceded in death by a brother, Fred, and two sons in law: Ken Zawislak and Jason Alba. In keeping with Arnold’s wishes cremation will be held and he will be entombed next to his wife at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 4 – 8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where a memorial service celebrating Arnold’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County, 150 Osmun, Pontiac, MI 48342.
