Matthew P. Twomey November 09, 1938 - December 09, 2023 MatthewPatrick Twomey Jr. passed away on December 9, 2023 atthe age of 85. Mathewwas born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1938 to parents MatthewSr. and Margaret(neeDowling) Twomey. Matthewattended St. Gregory theGreat, U of D JesuitHigh School, and went on to graduate fromUniversity of DetroitMercy. Hewas a proud Army veteran of the 101st Airborne serving as a paratrooper. In his younger years he enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, and fishing. Matthewhad an easy going personality and made theworldmore fun for all who knewhim. Hewas a longtime business owner, and his M.T. Hunterstore in Birminghamwas especially well known and liked within the community.One of his goofy habits was going to the theaters to take advantage of his senior discount by watchingmultiplemovies back-to-back for hours. Matthew was a greatconversationalist and very sociable. Hewas a big NotreDame Football fan, and in his later years took immense joy spending timewith his grandchildren and cheering themon attheir hockey games. Matthewwas the beloved husband of the lateMartha Jean (nee Watt) for 51 years. Loving father of Molly Metz(Rich) and Matt Twomey. Cherished grandfather of Richie, Bridget & BrookeMetz and Ash, Violet & Ronan Twomey. Dear brother of Patrick Twomey (Judy). Hewas preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings, Tim(Judy), Mike, and Peggy Sieffert(John). Family willreceive friends on Thursday, December 14, from2-8PM with Rosary at 7PM at A.J.
