George R. Bopp

George Robert Bopp was born on September 2, 1935 in South Fork, Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Margaret Bopp. George resided in Taylor, Michigan, he passed away on January 19, 2024 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Terry Bopp. Loving father of Robert Bopp, Barbara (Randy) Hall, Bill (Judy) Bopp and Bonnie (John) Zaidel. Dearest grandfather of Brent (Colleen), Eric (Emma), Holly (Michael), Dana, Hailey (Michael) and Jack. Loving great-grandfather of Hannah, Ava, Brody, Claire, Brennan and Drew. Dearest brother of Jean. He was preceded in death by his siblings Mildred, Jack, Regis and Charles. George will be deeply missed by family and friends. Visitation Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. with a K of C 7:00 p.m. at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23750 Goddard Road. (313) 291-1800. In state Wednesday 9:30 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 6442 Pelham Rd, Taylor. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. George was Ordinance Supervisor for the City of Taylor. He liked to help residents resolve problems. He helped Taylor lose the nickname "Taylortuckie". A member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and K of C Counsel 4872. He enjoyed playing cards, euchre, pinochle and poker, going to the casino, trips up north and most of all time with family. He was a people person, kind and thoughtful. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
