A true family man, Richard was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He cherished his family above all else, embodying integrity in every aspect of his life.

If a family member, friend, or neighbor ever needed assistance with a home project, he would gather his tools and be at their house, ready to use his abundant handy skills.

In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed watching baseball, playing card games such as Pinochle, and spending time outdoors. Richard found pleasure in watching birds, airplanes, and clouds. With his eyes to the sky, he often took to predicting the weather as well. He had a passion for gardening, cultivating grapes and a variety of roses, and sharing the bounty and beauty with loved ones.
