Patricia (Tricia, Patty) Marie Devine

Patricia (Tricia, Patty) Marie Devine was born on July 8, 1946, to proud parents James and Marie Devine, in Detroit, Michigan. As a young child, the family moved to Huntington Woods where Tricia was raised with the growing family. She went to grade school at Our Lady of LaSalette in Berkley, followed by Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. After high school, Tricia went to Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in Art and Teaching and later worked toward a Master's degree at MSU in Art.

Tricia was a talented artist with her specialty being portraiture.

In 1987, Tricia met the love of her life, Frederic Shearer, who was by her side for 37 years and cared for her until her passing. Reading and watching movies together were among the pastimes that they enjoyed over the years.

Tricia suffered from a long-term illness but never complained. She was always cheerful, pleasant, and grateful for the blessings in her life.

Tricia died peacefully on March 26, 2024. She will be missed but will live on in our happy memories.

Tricia is survived by her loving partner, Frederic Shearer, sisters Nancy (Tom) Kurkowski, Constance (Larry) Beaubien, Anne Devine (Ray Cozzens), and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tricia's life, including a Mass, will be held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Fatima campus on April 9, 2024. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church beginning at 9:30am, with Mass following at 10:00am. The location of the church is 13500 Oak Park Blvd, Oak Park, MI 48237.
