Michael Anthony Hooker

Michael Hooker, age 48, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024. Michael was the beloved son of Margaret and the late Ellis Ray Hooker. Michael was born in Detroit, Michigan where he was the loving father of Meghan (Brad) Footlander, Brooklyn (Evan) Hooker, and Gabrielle Hooker. Michael was also a proud grandfather to Noah and Cecil. Michael was survived by his three brothers, Tony (Tina) Hooker, James Hooker, and John (Miranda) Hooker. Michael was a jokester that loved to see people laughing having a good time, but Michael had a strong, and unique bond with his mom, Margaret that will always be unbreakable even through death. Michael never met a stranger which meant to him the neighborhood friends were his "Sisters and Brothers". Michael will be greatly missed beyond words by many, many aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends. Visitation, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Verheyden Funeral Home (Don Graham Chapel), 7100 Michigan Ave. Detroit 48210. Mass, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Instate, 10:00am, and Mass at 10:30am at Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit Catholic Church 1000 Ste. Anne Street, Detroit 48216. The family will be receiving guest until the beginning of Mass at 10:30am. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery located in Detroit, Michigan where Michael was born and raised.
