Adolfo Camillo Scopone

Adolfo Camillo Scopone, age 87, of Livonia, Michigan passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. Adolfo was born September 20, 1936 in Pianagrande Ari, la province de Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy, to Nicola and Genoveffa Scopone. Beloved husband of 62 years to Nancy. Loving father of Diana Scopone and Frank (Beatrice) Scopone. Proud nonno of Nicholas, Dominic, Andre'a, and Gabriella. Dear brother of late Salvatore, Armando, and Rosina "Maria" (Tony) Salice. Adolfo will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Adolfo immigrated to the United States on February 18, 1958. Despite the hardships he faced at first, such as having to learn a new language, he managed to create a legacy for himself and future generations. He began working in the construction industry, retiring from the Wayne County forestry division. Following that, he developed a successful landscape contracting business with his son Frank, Scopone Landscaping Inc. In his later years, he and Nancy enjoyed spending winters at their second home in Naples, Florida. He was also passionate about gardening, lovingly known as a "master gardener" by family and friends, constantly sharing the fruits of his labor. He was a lifetime member of the Italian American Club of Livonia, Michigan, where he enjoyed socializing, spending time playing cards and bocce. Adolfo was extremely proud of his family and his Italian heritage, he never lost sight of his roots. He will be remembered for his determination and never let anything stand in his way.

A visitation for Adolfo will be held Sunday, February 18, from 1:00pm-7:00pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152, with a sharing of memories at 6:00pm. An in state will occur Monday, February 19, at 10:30am at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Rd., Livonia, MI 48154, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
