William F. Prusaitis November 4, 1928 – December 2, 2021 William F. Prusaitis, 93 passed away December 2, 2021. Born in Detroit, Michigan. Surviving are his children: William D (Amy) Prusaitis, Cindy M Prusaitis, Mark E (Valerie) Prusaitis, and Gregory A (Cynthia) Prusaitis; grandchildren: Heather Prusaitis, George Bellman, Edward Bellman, Genevieve Prusaitis, Andrew (Tessa) Prusaitis, Danielle (Devin) Kachar, Samantha (Kenneth) Sobota, and Melissa (David) Wickenheiser; as well as four great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his wife Cecile M. (Pelletier), his parents, William and Anna Prusaitis, and his brother, James R., and sister, Darlene F. Pritchard. William graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan. Served in the U.S. Army in the Japanese Occupation and was Honorably Discharged in October 1947. He attended Lawrence Institute of Technology and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. He was pledged into the Phi Kappa Upsilon fraternity and was the fraternity chapter treasurer during his senior year at Lawrence Tech. William worked for Teledyne CAE in Detroit, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. He retired as Program Manager for the F107 Turbine Engines used in the US Cruise Missiles. William was assigned by Teledyne CAE as the company representative The SAE Committee E25 General Standards for Aerospace Propulsion Systems. He served on the E25 Committee from June 1965 to November 1991. He was the committee chairman from March 1979 to April 1983. William enjoyed the up-north vacations with the family at Higgins Lake where he built the family cottage. He enjoyed fishing, boating, sailing, and golfing at the near golfing courses. In the winter he enjoyed snowmobiling on the snowmobile trails. William and his wife Cecile enjoyed cruising. After taking their first cruise on their 25th wedding anniversary, they continued on many more cruises in the Caribbean Sea, visiting and touring the islands. Visitation will be at Rupp Funeral Home 2345 South Custer Road on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 4pm to 8pm. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe. William will lie instate at 10am with the funeral mass starting at 11am. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
