Wesley “Dave” LaBeau

Wesley “Dave” LaBeau, age 84 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Rivergate Terrace Nursing Home.

Born December 8, 1941, in Monroe, Dave was the son of the late Wesley and Angeline (Braun) LaBeau. Dave’s first marriage was to Shirley (Dushane) Somerville and together they had six children. His second marriage was to Gail Parker and together they had two children. Dave lastly married Dottie Peterson.

Dave worked in construction for most of his life until he retired in 1998 after many years. While working, he was a part of the Laborers’ Local 1911 in Detroit.  Dave was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as Roam N Chariots Car Club. Dave loved classic cars including his 1971 Chevelle and his 1992 Chevy truck.  He was an avid hunter and enjoyed golf, billiards, gardening, and his dog Rico.

To cherish his memory, Dave leaves his children: Renea Kibler, David LaBeau, Tim LaBeau, Suzette (Gary Nemec) LaBeau, Angela (Brian) Groves, Marilyn (Mark) Hindbaugh, Eric (Brittany) LaBeau, and Erin (Larry) Miller; stepchildren: John (Carrie) Peterson and Jackie Peterson; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brother: Donald (Pat) LaBeau and many nieces and nephews. 

Along with his parents, Dave is preceded in death by wife, Dottie; brother, Richard LaBeau; sister, Marilyn Robinson; granddaughter, Rachel LaBeau-Parker; nephews, Mark Vuich and Douglas LaBeau, and son in law, Rob Kibler.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Dave will lie instate at 9:30 am with mass starting at 10 am. Officiating is Fr. David Burgard. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery.
