Anthony R. “Tony” Bacarella

Anthony R. “Tony” Bacarella, 83 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Born January 20, 1940 in Monroe, Tony was the son of the late William J. and Pearl M. (Crossman) Bacarella. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe and was a 1957 graduate of Monroe High School.
On September 30, 1961 Tony married his beloved wife, Theresa S. Castellese, at St. Joseph Church.
Tony began working at Ford Motor Company’s Woodhaven Stamping Plant in 1965. He worked tirelessly to support his family and put his boys through grade school, high school, and college. He retired as a Production Supervisor in 1992.
Tony enjoyed fishing and golf and was a former member of Dundee Golf Club. He also loved football Saturdays in his son Scott’s garage with the boys, rooting on the Michigan Wolverine’s and eating hotdogs. Most of all Tony loved time spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Theresa, his two loving sons: William A. (Amy S.) Bacarella and Scott A. (Christina King) Bacarella, his three grandchildren, whom he adored: Maranda, Olivia, and Ian Bacarella, two sisters: Margaret M. Bacarella and Crista M. Bacarella, three extended family members: Skylar and Jordan King and Avery Wallace, and his grand puppies: Lilly, Rosie, and Sage.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 2 – 7 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where funeral services celebrating Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 am. Deacon Mike Stewart will officiate.
Private interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
