James George Aiello ( May 9, 1947 - April 21, 2024 ) James Aiello was born in Detroit, MI on May 9, 1947 and passed away suddenly on Sunday April 21, 2024 at his home in Redford. Jim, as friends and family called him, grew up in Dearborn, MI where he went to Fordson High School. He is preceded in death by his parents Vincent James and Bernice Aiello, brothers Frank Aiello, Michael Aiello, Richard Aiello, and son Gregory Perri. He lived a life filled with adventure and laughter. He met his beloved wife Karen in the hospital in 1975, when she was his nurse. From there, their love story blossomed, and they got married in October of 1985. As their love deepened, he transformed into a devoted family man. Karen’s love and stability grounded him, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories with family. Jim was affectionately known as Papa by his grandkids. Papa brought joy to the lives of many, especially his grandchildren. He had a gift for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, always hosting pool days in the backyard, often followed by family dinners for his grandkids and their friends, whom he always welcomed and treated as his own. The home was a place of laughter, love, and endless fun, where everyone felt like part of the family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by the love of his life, Karen, loving children Beth Ann (Tim) Holme, Kevin (Tamara) Perri, daughter-in-law Maureen Perri, adoring grandchildren Megan (Derek) Virzi, Mackenzie Holme, Elia (Anthony) Ala, Shane Holme, Nicola Perri, great grandchildren Rocco Virzi, Ava Virzi, brother Gerald (Dana) Aiello and sister-in-law Dorothy Aiello. Jim was also adored by his many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Monday April 29th, 2024 from 2pm-7pm (Rosary at 6pm) at Charles Step Funeral Home: 18425 Beech Daly Rd, Redford MI 48240.
