Devoted husband of 59 years to Dr Violet M. Geisz (Vassberg). Father of Dr John (Kristi) Geisz, Susan Dominick, Carl (Tiffany) Geisz, and Karen (Seth) Halstead. Proud grandfather of Will Geisz, Joe Geisz, Anne Geisz, Charles Geisz, Lucas Dominick, Dylan Dominick, Alyssa Werth (Dominick), Lauren Dominick, Jacob Dominick, Vivian Geisz, Bruno Geisz, Gabriel Halstead, and Mira Halstead. Beloved great-grandfather of Benjamin Riggs. Dr Geisz is preceded in death by his parents Franz and Marie (Wolf) Geisz and his grandson Nathan Dominick.
Born and raised in Detroit, Dr Geisz earned his BS, MS, and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan. He served in the US Army at the start of his 51-year career as a Hospital Pharmacist.
Dr Geisz was loved by his family and was a good family man. As a devout Catholic, he encouraged others to work hard, get a useful degree from a university with a notable football team (Go Blue!), and follow God. Franz loved God and the United States of America, knowing to never take his freedom and blessed life for granted.
A visitation for Dr Geisz will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Dr Geisz will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 25800 W Ten Mile Rd, Southfield, MI 48033.
