Sophia Caroline Desmarais Daigle

Sophia Caroline Desmarais Daigle passed away peacefully at her home under the care of her children and Hospice of Michigan after battling Broken Heart Syndrome for several months.

Sophia was born on December 30, 1929, the daughter of Frederick and Caroline Boike. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters; Leona, Shirley, Florence, and brother Don; her husband Francis, oldest son, Douglas her second husband, John Daigle and her foster son, of 52 years, Chris Ford.

She is survived by her brother Clayton (Beverly) Boike, her sons, Dennis (Marlene) and David (Nancy) and her daughters, Kathy (Thomas) Charron and Marie (Joseph) Lama. She took great joy in her grandchildren Emily, Anthony, Paul, Lisa, Mark, Angela, Douglas, Matthew and her 5 great grandchildren.

Sophia was a lifelong member of St. Cyprian parish and served in various church committees through the years.

Sophia and her husband Francis, were committed foster parents to 8 newborn children through the years and each was a source of great pride and love.

Sophia will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
