Patricia Ann Aguayo

Patricia Ann “Patty” Aguayo, beloved mother, grandmother (Nana) and friend, passed away peacefully in Westland, Michigan on March 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 3rd 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Patty was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Gladys Wargai. She was the devoted wife of the late Guadalupe Aguayo, with whom she shared a loving marriage of 55 years until his passing in 2009. Patty was a caring and dedicated mother to Deborah Dufour (Jackie Di Giovanni), the late Victoria and Paul (Terri Ryan). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Nicole (Michael) McGlue, Alexandra Di Giovanni, Samantha Leitch, Sean Ryan and Jimmy Ryan; great grandchildren Hannah McGlue and Cristiano Di Giovanni, sister-in-law Maria Gokey, as well as many nieces and nephews, who brought immense joy to her life. Patty’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will always be cherished. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home (7707 Middlebelt Road, south of Ann Arbor Trail) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Sabina Catholic Church (25605 Ann Arbor Trail, west of Telegraph). Patty will lie in repose at 10:30 a.m., with Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband Guadalupe, daughter Victoria, and son-in-law Richard Dufour. Patty will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She always proclaimed “she lived a great life”.
