Joseph John Carollo, 86, of Largo, Florida, passed away on Christmas morning, 2024. He was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 10, 1938 to Samuel and Madeline (Ceccarelli) Carollo. He attended Roosevelt High School in Wyndotte, Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1960. Joe made the Western Michigan University baseball team as a walk-on, playing the catching position. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea for 2 years. After his discharge, Joe was employed as an auditor for Chrysler Leasing. He married Margaret Castellese of Monroe, Michigan in 1967, and they moved to Largo, Florida where he was employed as General Manager for the St. Pete Auto Auction for over 30 years. Joe enjoyed time spent at his cabin in the U.P. of Michigan with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter. Joe also owned racehorses as a hobby. He coached his boys in Little League Baseball for over 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Carollo and Madeline Astle and a brother, Peter Carollo. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 57 years; and his four children, Monica (Mark) Murack, John (Debbie) Carollo, Christopher (Cathy) Carollo, Gregory (Lori) Carollo; and ten grandchildren, Derek Murack, Nicholas Murack, Mark Murack, Mara Murack, Anthony Carollo, Alyssa Carollo, Ava Carollo, Samuel Carollo, Olivia Carollo, and Emma Carollo.
